Batman: New Times
Batman: New Times is an animated CGI film. Although utilizing the popular minimates construction bricks Batman: New Times is often considered by much of the Internet community as a Batman LEGO Fan Film created by the students of the DAVE (Digital Animation and Visual Effects) school. The film was intended to help sales of the minimates toy line. The film depicts a Minimate version of Batman and Gotham City, The CGI models used for the film are based on Art Asylum's Minimates toyline, although they are often confused with Lego bricks.

Plot
It is New Years Eve, and Bruce Wayne is hosting a party at Wayne Manor. Just when he meets "Ms. Kitka" (Catwoman in disguise, as seen in the 1966 film Batman: The Movie), he gets a call from the Commissioner, explaining that the Joker is planning a New Years Eve crime spree.
It is up to the Batman to avoid Harley Quinn's distractions, and stop the Joker from pulling the world's largest stick-up at midnight, but surprises are ahead...
Rating
The film is rated PG-13 for Martial Arts violence and a scene of sensuality. However, the film also received an "E for EVERYONE" rating by Batman Fan Films.
Production
Every year, the students actually create a short film to demonstrate what they have learned in class and for future employers. Batman: New Times was released 2005 by the graduating class December 2004 of Dave School.
Response
The success of Batman: New Times led Marvel Comics and Diamond Select Toys contracting DAVE School and its students to produce a commercial film in the same style using Marvel characters, X-men: Darktide.
