Members
Austin Gamebreakers are comprised of locally talented Coaches and players. Head Coach Dennis Jones arrived from Tennessee State University. Offensive coordinator coach Garrie Mcaffee, a product of Waco Connally High School and New Mexico State, where he excelled as a defensive tackle, drafted by the Seattle Sea Hawks. Defensive coordinator Matt Kappel, Linebackers Coach Ken Lee coming from the Chicago Bears, wide receivers Coach Derrick Wallace, Grambling State University and Offensive line and Defensive line Coach Jose Nonalaya.
The majority of players come from Central Texas High Schools. The Gamebreakers do however; get players from East Texas and Dallas that are a vital part of the organization. These young men volunteer their time, blood sweat and tears for the love of the game. The WFL is Minor League Football; therefore, players cannot be compensated for their time. Again it is simply for the love of the” Game”. Despite it being for the love of the game, you get some quality football from these gentlemen. The Gamebreakers and the WFL is a stepping-stone for some of the Athletes to make it into one of the other Leagues, i.e.… Arena, CFL and the NFL. The Gamebreakers currently have several players competing in the Arena leagues (IPFL Indoor Professional Football League), as well as Arena 2.
