Armaga
Armaga is a Russian dark-doom metal band, formed in 2008 by Andrey Vasiunin and Evgenij Shchetinov.
History
The name "Armaga" has been chosen without special thoughts on any instructions of the name of a county of Northern Ireland, however later, having found out this similarity, musicians have counted its approaching and corresponding to group stylistics. (As, this county has mystical and mythological legends).
In June, 2008 drummer Evgeniy Krishtal has become interested in Andrey and Evgenie's creativity. Some time it worked with band as the sessional musician, and then and has entered into its constant structure. Later to Armaga added the fourth participant - vocalist Graf Sobolevsky.
In 2009 year on the Russian label IROND Records there was a debut album of band In The Ruins, written down at the Moscow studio Quartamusic. The album presentation will take place in St.-Petersburg in the end of October, in Moscow in the middle of November.
Creativity
Music of Armaga is dark-doom metal with elements of death-metal, and also (in insignificant degree) with some elements symphonic-metal. On sounding it reminds such bands, as Ajattara (Finland), Alastis (Switzerland), My Dying Bride (Great Britain). The vocal represents a certain compromise between traditionally applied screaming, and a throat falsetto (some find in it common features with Dani Filta hoarse throat falsettos from Cradle of Filth ).
Lyrical component of an album In The Ruins it is devoted destiny ancient, thrown, and already dilapidated manor with ghosts in which till now there live shadowy past echoes for a long time the died owners. The touch of mysticism, romanticism, emotions of grief, an atmosphere reconstruction опустошённости изаброшенности, is as a whole characteristic for bands of genres gothic-metal, dark-metal, and doom-metal. Feature Armaga thus is the description in the lyric poet of monuments of an epoch of the nineteenth century and blossoming of culture of noble family (that is, the latest historical period from all traditionally romaticized epoch).
