Biography

Early History (1994-2003)

Archaios first stage appearance was in 1994, originally known as LEGION.

They have participated in diverse events, from concerts and festivals, even to contests which they have won many times, such as the LTD, that was celebrated on 1998 on the Dominican Republic.

Finaly during the the year of 2003, the band changes their name to Archaios, making this their last modification to the band, that with the start of their first recording, which at first seemed to be unable due to the limited MusicAL market and the Deficiency of professional musicians and the professionalism to take on the proyect on such genre, awarding that way the perseverenace and effort of the band.

The Mid Era (2003-2005)

Archaios was during this period rapidly recognize as one of the most influencial bands of the Dominican Underground Scene. There popularity was due to their constant effort and the collaboration of great musicians, such as Joel Solano, which is one of the most prominent metal musicians on the Dominican Republic. The recording of their first and only studio album "Out Of Shadows' in 2005, opened a new door to Archaios and it became popular and mentioned even at international spaces. Their music from their album went international on various radio stations, mostly from Puerto Rico, and even thou they never actually played outside the Dominican Republic, this band could be considered as one of the most notable Dominican bands to influence on other internationals scenes.

The Final Year (2006)

A year after their first release, the band started to work on what apparently would be very important projects for the band, such as a new single, called "The Distant", that was later released as a song that was gonna be featured on their announced New album, which was never released. Also, after the release of their new single, they planned and filmed a video for the song, but there is still not an official date to the release of this video. Later on, the band announced that their long time runner drummer, Johandy Ureña, was departing from the band because he was moving to the United States to serve as a musician there. The band went into a Period of Inactivity, but later on they found a substitute drummer, (as probably will be seen on the announced "The Distant" video, because Johandy Ureña had departed the band already for the time) to cover up for Johandy Ureña, but with the exception of a very few concerts, the band remained mostly inactive.

On november 4th, the band scheduled a concert on which they would be "going onto an indefinite farewell". The concert featured the Dominican Bands “Equinoxio”, “Dark Creation”, “Dogma Central” and “Alejados del Sistema”, and it was held on Santiago, Dominican Republic.

After their disband, some of the ex-members have moved to the USA. Rumors have been spread about the band getting back together at New York to play once again, but this is yet to be confirmed, as no information about a reunion or anyother activity has been metion by any of the band members.
