Another Language Performing Arts Company

Another Language Performing Arts Company was founded in 1985 by Elizabeth Miklavcic (Artistic Director) and Jimmy Miklavcic (Executive Director) in Salt Lake City, Utah . The company focuses on creating dance-based interdisciplinary performance works. The mission of Another Language is to combine different art forms in innovative ways and broaden access to [...]-edge performance art with today's communications technology. The company has created ground-breaking work in Telematic Performance Art, and Access Grid Collaborative Research.

Another Language has developed the InterPlay performance, a form of interdisciplinary telematic cinema. Since 2003, the company performed seven InterPlays - InterPlay: Intransitive Senses (2003), InterPlay: Hallucinations (2004), InterPlay: Loose Minds in a Box (2005), InterPlay: Dancing on the Banks of Packet Creek (2006), InterPlay: Nel Tempo di Songo (2007), InterPlay: Carnivale (2008), and InterPlay: AnARTomy (2009).

Dance is a universal art form that is subject to diverse interpretations - as are poetry and film. In the years of its existence, Another Language Performing Arts Company has bridged the Chasms between these forms of communication and expressions with thoughtful imagery.
