Andrew Dela Serna
Andrew Abella Dela Serna (born June 5, 1976 in Davao City, Philippines) is a Filipino web developer, entrepreneur and blogger. In 2001, he founded Alleba, a Philippine search engine. In 2004, Alleba was named the WWW Virtual Library of the Philippines.
Studies and Employment
In 1997, Dela Serna graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Management Economics. After two years, he moved to New York City to pursue an Associate's Degree in Digital Design and Interactive Media at PRATT Institute. During that period Dela Serna had interned for Camera Planet and was hired by Usopay Cadar to do graphic design work for the Kulintang cultural group. In 2001, Dela Serna graduated from Pratt with high honors. Shortly after moving back to Manila, he served as Vice President for Web Development for multimedia company EACOMM.
Online Achievements
After graduating from Pratt Dela Serna created a directory and search engine for Philippine-made websites, called Alleba. Today he is also a prolific blogger and programmer, having created many Wordpress plugins, graphic design tutorials and web applications. He is the man behind a popular Dota Allstars portal, DotaStrategy.com, as well as the blog directories Ratified.org and Ratified.org Australia. Dela Serna monetizes his web properties through the Google Adsense program, and was even cited by various international dailies as being in Google's "hidden payroll" in March 2006.
