Alistair Lyall

Alistair Lyall (born 15 February 1949) is a retired British auto racing driver. He competed mainly in club events and spent a brief time in the British Touring Car Championship in the early nineties.

He first raced in the BTCC in 1991. Entering just three rounds in a privately run BMW 318i, with little success. He returned for just the final round of the 1992 season. This time in a BMW M3 for Tech-Speed Motorsport, finishing down in seventeenth place.

His most successful moment in racing came in 1993, winning the ELF Renault Clio Cup title in just his second attempt. Three years after that were spent in the Rover Turbo Cup, followed by drive in the 1997 Vauxhall Vectra Sri V6 Challenge. He was twice runner-up in the MGF Cup in 1998 and 2000. His final years in motorsport came with a return to the Renault Clio Cup from 2001, and Caterham racing in 2003.
