Aeon (Project)
Aeon is a skin for XBMC, designed to "create an attractive, sophisticated and above all personal environment for organising and enjoying media". It was created by Duncan Harris (alias djh_) in 2007, and has not stopped evolving since then.
The current stable version is called Stark, and refers to version 0.91. It was released on April 4, 2009.
Auriga is the next scheduled version, and it refers to version 1.0. There are currently no scheduled date for its final release. It was last updated in July 2009.

Popular mods
Recently, many mods appeared, all based, at some level, on the original Aeon skin. Those mods often aggregate a lot of smaller modifications posted by individual users in XBMC forums in easy to install packages.
The most popular mods packages are:
- ShowMix, based on Auriga, by andyblac
- Hitched, originally by Hitcher (stopped development); development picked up by EKIM232
- Aeon65 (previously Phil65), based on Hitched, by temmi2000
