AA Evergreen District

The AA Evergreen District is a high school conference in the state of Virginia that currently stretches from Warren County to Prince William County. The Evergreen District member schools compete in Region II with the schools from the AA Dulles District, AA Jefferson District, and AA Northwestern District.

The Evergreen District was created to alleviate crowding in the Northwestern District caused by Liberty and Fauquier's return from AAA. The Northwestern District was thus split into two five-team districts, with the four schools in Frederick County joining with Skyline of Warren County and keeping the Northwestern District name. Warren County, being the eastern Warren County school, joined up with Brentsville and the three Fauquier County schools to form the Evergreen District. The two five team districts allow the districts to expand if and when other new schools are constructed or reach the AA level. Some possibilities include Clarke County becoming a AA school, or absorbing some of Loudoun County's schools, since the Dulles District could swell to 11 schools if Loudoun Valley and Heritage drop back to AA when new schools Woodgrove and Tuscarora open in 2010.
