Jay Tipping (born January 14, 1974) is a Gemini Award Nominated Picture Editor and Documentary Stills Photographer. Tipping has edited well over 150 hrs of broadcast television which has aired throughout the world on most major TV Networks.
Tipping is married to Kari Bodrug, a renowned chorographer and dancer (Blues Brothers 2000, Superstar); they have 2 children.
Education
Tipping went to Lord Elgin High School (now Robert Bateman High School) in Burlington, Ontario; he later attended Niagara College between 1992 - 1995, graduating in their Film and Television Program. In 1998 Tipping enrolled at Sheridan College in Oakville Ontario, where he specialized in Post Production Editing at Sheridan and graduated with honours in 2001. While in his second year at Sheridan, Tipping was selected to edit two, one hour episodes for the TV Ontario’s “Millennium Project”.
During his third year Tipping produced, directed and edited his own film entitled “Searching For Al” featuring famed theatre actor Martha Henry, local morning Radio Hosts (cfny 102.1) Humble and Fred and actor and director, Al Waxman. “Searching For Al” went on to receive various awards including the TV Ontario Telefest Awards and the Winner of Best Independent Documentary at the Niagara Indie Film Festival, as well as a MA Award for “People’s Choice”.
Career
In 1995, Tipping worked on various television Documentary productions, Music Videos and Independent Films.
In 2001, Tipping began working at Panic and Bob Editing and School Editing Inc. in Toronto Canada. There he worked on various television commercials for Dove, KFC, Honey Nut Cheerios, Tim Hortons, Cogeco Cable, GM, Panasonic, and McDonalds.
In 2003 Tipping formed his own company, Silver Hammer Studios Inc..

Shaye is Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean (who now as left the band). In 2008, the series was nominated for a Gemini Award.
In 2007, Tipping edited Kenny vs Spenny (which was aired in Canada on Showcase, and in the US on The Comedy Network). Season 4 was produced by Matt Stone and Trey Parker the creators of South Park.
