Open Grave Records
Open Grave records is an independent record label and distributor, owned and operated by James and Meghan Mattern. It was founded in 2006 and is based out of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. The label represents such bands as Necrodemon, Demon Dog Sperm, Elgibbor, Primitive Graven Image, Art 238, Kekal, Grindminded and others.
As well as being a fully functional record label and distributor, they provide a 24 hour metal shoutcast radio station Providing Metal for the Masses. As well as having several feature shows, they also showcase many of their artists.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend of 2007, they became the first record label to offer free mp3 downloads of their releases via their website. Included was 10 of their past and current releases.
December 2007 a sub label of Open Grave Records presents itself, Sullen Records. Sullen Records was created for the purpose of releasing underground black metal bands on a professionally pressed CD-R with a limited EDition run. The first Sullen release being, Elgibbor - Stronger than Hell.
