Jenny Rocket is a roller derby pivot/blocker with the Calgary Roller Derby Association. She plays with the Thrashin' Lassies. She was drafted from the now-defunct Girl Grinders of Canada in September, 2007. She was selected by the GGOF as part of the initial dispersal draft when the league was formed in 2007.

Jenny Rocket was born in Montreal, Quebec, went to high school in Edmonton, Alberta and attended college in Calgary, Alberta. It was in Calgary that Jenny Rocket joined the local roller derby association.

Rocket created her derby name based on a combination of influences: the old-style nostalgia of the local Johnny Rocket car wash, the proud Montreal tradition of NHL great Maurice "The Rocket" Richard, and her own first name, Jennifer.

Currently, the Calgary Roller Derby Association is in their first year, and game statistics are unavailable. Rocket is a natural pivot who also alternates as a blocker. On the track, she is known for loudly leading her teammates, alerting them to the position of the incoming jammers. Despite her diminutive size, she is known for an aggressive skating style that leads her to initiate contact.

A bum wine is a colloquial reference to any of a class of inexpensive fortified wines that are popular among the poor and homeless in the United States for the quick inebriation they deliver.

Some popular beverages in this category are Thunderbird, MD 20/20, Cisco, Night Train, and Wild Irish Rose. Buckfast Tonic Wine and formerly Ripple have similar reputations, though Ripple is no longer produced. In Canada, Bright's Pale Dry Select Sherry is considered a potent bum wine. Another bum wine that is out of production is Sly Fox. These wines typically have an alcohol content of between 15 and 20% ABV. Other characteristics include added sugars, artificial colorings and flavorings.

In contrast to table wine, which may be enjoyed as an accompaniment to a meal, bum wines are generally considered suitable only for intoxication. Note that its classification as "wine" is a very loosely used term, and many people refer to it as "hooch", "street wine", "fortified wine", "wino wine", or "twist-cap wine". Likely the most accurate and overly politically correct description of these products, "beverage for the economical drinker" is also used synonymously with bum wine.

Ola Ahmed Abd-El-Latif Kamel (born July 3, 1956) in Cairo, Egypt, was the Spokesperson for An-Nur Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, Treasurer for the South Island branch of the New Zealand Labour Party, and founder of the Labour Party's Multi-Ethnic Branch. In 2004 she was also a candaidate for Christchurch's 20/21 in local elections and before then twice a List Candidate for the Labour Party in national elections. She has also spoken widely in inter-faith forums and participated numerous times in protests aganist the Iraq War.

She does not seem to be seeking office currently and has toned down her political and communal activities.

She is a descendant of Muhammad Ali of Egypt's high order nobility and is married into the aristocratic Egyptian Abaza Family.

From the fragmentary relevant information available online, citing and indicating Ola Kamel's political activities and leanings, her official 2004 election blurb stated:

"I came to Christchurch from Egypt almost 8 years ago after a career in banking and became heavily involved with community work. My contributions included work with local community associations, inter-faith dialogue and refugee family aid. I put time and effort into encouraging minority groups to become involved in their communities because I believe that participation is the key to community harmony and democracy. I feel that the increased involvement of ethnic minorities in public life is necessary to substantiate New Zealand’s slogans about multi-culturalism and diversity. I also believe that good affordable housing is a basic need for all people. I support the initiatives the City Council has taken in providing low-cost housing and will work to ensure that that new rental housing is built for people with genuine needs. My commitment is to be available to local people and to represent their views.
