Customer Experience Design is the discipline of deliberately creating interactions based on the wants, needs, and limitations of customers. This is the definition adopted by the Customer Experience Professionals Association (www.cxpa.org). As some parts of the economy move toward commoditization, customer experience design is a multi-discipline approach that strives to create meaningful differentiation between brands. By focusing on the intangible aspects of the experience, businesses can establish meaningful emotional connections with their customers and provide them with the clues necessary to retell their experience as a story to friends, colleagues, and family. In a sense, experience is the birthplace of word-of-mouth marketing.
Applications
Customer Experience Design is similar in its orientation to Experience Design but is used as a strategic framework to coordinate the outputs of other disciplines such as user experience, visual merchandising, architecture, service design, wayfinding, loyalty programs, point of sale systems, and many more.
Practice
Customer Experience Design is being used in many industries, particularly those in service industries characterized by frequent employee/client contact in a branded environment. Retail, hospitality, healthcare, and entertainment have been the most successful early adopters.

Tyler Shields is an American professional photographer in Los Angeles, California.
Career
Shields has no formal training as a photographer and uses many varying styles.
In 2010, Shields photographed actress Lindsay Lohan in studio portraits brandishing a gun, which became a matter of controversy. Also that year, at the release party for his book Collisions, Shields appeared to shoot a partygoer with a gun, as a piece of performance art.
In summer 2010, Shields became a co-founder and the photography editor of The Printed Blog, a print magazine composed entirely of blogs and other online content. Also in 2010, Shields claimed to set a world record by staying awake for 968 consecutive hours while being observed 24 hours a day by a team of friends acting as monitors. Guinness World Records officials said they would not recognize the claim for reasons of such stunts' danger and difficultly in obtaining veracity.

The Rothstein lab is located at the Columbia Universtiy Medical Center in NY city, and is lead by professor Rodney Rothstein of Columbia University. The lab began its research in 1977 and has mapped out many of the important pathways involved in DNA repair as well as making much progress in understanding genetic recombination in eukaryotes. The lab primarily works with yeast, although many of the genes are conserved with humans. The lab is part of the Genetics and Development department at the Columbia University Julius & Armand Hammer Health Sciences Center. The Rad52 and Sml1 proteins, as well as the Top3/Sgs1 protein complex, are the major proteins researched. The lab has a complete gene disruption library for yeast of all non-essential genes, making across the board genome screening and gene study a useful tool.
