Ashley Lane and Nevaeh are an all-female professional wrestling tag team that consists of real life friends Ashley Lane and Nevaeh. They are mostly known for their work in Shimmer Women Athletes, where they were the first ever Shimmer Tag Team Champions, titles they defended both in Shimmer and in other promotions on the independent circuit.
Career
Lane and Nevaeh had teamed regularly together since 2007 in promotions in and around Ohio, but gained more attention when they made their Shimmer debut as a team in 2008. They debuted as a team (Lane had made her singles debut at the previous taping) on April 26. They lost to The Experience of Lexie Fyfe and Malia Hosaka as part of Volume 17. As part of the Volume 18, Lane and Nevaeh scored a major upset victory (and their first tag team victory in Shimmer) over the The Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew of Lacey and Rain after pinning Rain following their trademark STO/Yakuza Kick double-team combination.
On July 5, Lane and Nevaeh defeated Cat Power and Veronika Vice with their double-team STO/Yakuza Kick combo as part of Volume 19. Later in the night as part of the Volume 20 taping they lost to The International Home Wrecking Crew of Rain and Jetta.
The duo's biggest victory both in Shimmer and in professional wrestling came at the October 19 taping. Lane and Nevaeh were victorious in a six-team gauntlet match to crown the first Shimmer Tag Team Champions. They entered fifth, eliminating The International Home Wrecking Crew, and then The Experience to win the match and the titles. Later in the evening as part of the Volume 22 taping they defeated The Canadian Ninjas (Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews) to successfully make their first defense of the titles.
Lane and Nevaeh were scheduled to defend their Shimmer Tag Team Championship for the first time outside of Shimmer at an American Luchacore show on October 31 against "Sassy" Stephie Sinclair and Hailey Hatred. Due to problems with the building the show was postponed. The following night, November 1, Lane and Nevaeh did however successfully defend their titles at an Insanity Pro Wrestling show against "Sassy" Stephie Sinclair and Hellena Heavenly. Lane pinned Stephie after the a modified version of the STO/Yakuza Kick combination where Ashley hit the kick from the top rope.
On May 2, 2009, at the tapings of Volume 23 Jetta and Rain got a rematch against Lane and Nevaeh in a two out of three falls match. The Home Wrecking Crew scored the first fall when their new manager Lacey interfered in the match. Lane tied the score by pinning Rain and then the challengers got the third pinfall with the use of an object. However, the match was restarted and in the end the Lane and Nevaeh retained their titles when Nevaeh pinned Jetta.
On May 3, 2009, at the tapings of Volume 25 Lane and Nevaeh retained the Shimmer Tag Team Titles against Amazing Kong and Sara Del Rey by Disqualification when Kong hit the referee. On Volume 26 Lane and Nevaeh lost the Tag Team Championship to Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews.
