Career
Darren Friend 5th Dan Yoshinkan Aikido Instructor based in Sydney , Australia. He began aikido training in 1985 at Aikido Shudokan Melbourne Australia under Joe Thambu Sensei. In 1992 he travelled to Japan to undertake the famous Yoshinkan Aikido Senshusei Course and graduated the following year. Joining the staff at Yoshinkan Honbu (Headquarters) in 1994, Darren was made Chief Instructor - International Section of the Yoshinkan Honbu in 1996 and was directly responsible for administering the Senshusei course made famous in the autobiographical novel by Robert Twigger Angry White Pyjamas from 1996 to 2005. Darren Friend was involved in the publication of the Aikido Text "Total Aikido" and in 2004 he was the Aikido consultant for the Discovery Channel program Go Warrior.
In 2005 Darren Friend and his wife Peggy Woo left Tokyo and settled in Sydney, Australia where they established Aikido Yoshinkai NSW, the first full time Yoshinkan Aikido Dojo in Sydney. Darren Friend is the brother of Australian television journalist Rachel Friend.

Ronnie Duncan is an American sportscaster
who formerly hosted The Ronnie Duncan Morning Show on WERE-AM radio in Cleveland. He has been nominated three times for Local Emmy Awards for his broadcasting on radio and TV.
Biographical Sketch
Before his last job at WERE, Duncan worked 7 years as head sportscaster for CBS-TV affiliate WOIO-TV Channel 19, and hosted its pregame show for the NFL's Cleveland Browns, "Countdown to Kickoff" as well as its postgame show the 5th Quarter, from 1999-2002.
Duncan, also was briefly the area PA announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA. Duncan, who replaced Jeff Shreve after the 2004-05 NBA season as arena announcer, lasted only one season in that capacity for the Cavaliers.
Some of Duncan’s experiences include hosting and voicing an independent boxing series called Showcase of Boxing and announcing the successful Laila Ali-Nikki Eplion Pay-Per-View telecast.
In addition to his work in television, Duncan, who is a graduate of
Morgan State University, also has most recently hosted "Slammin' Sportscast", a weekly television sports taik/news program which aired on WBNX-TV Channel 55, a CW network affiliate in Cleveland, OH. It is still seen on podcasts, as well as video blogs on the station website.
Personal Life, Interests
"Married" and the father of two daughters, Jericka and Jasmine, and a son, Joshua, Duncan's family has moved away and he lives without them in Cleveland, Ohio. Duncan is a native of Baltimore, MD.

Natalie Dee, a resident of Columbus, Ohio, publishes a webcomic, , and wrote a weekly advice column titled "Ask Natalie," which ran in the Columbus Alive from July 2005-January 2006 and now appears in her blog. Her husband Drew also publishes a webcomic, called toothpaste for dinner. Together, the two write the collaborative webcomic Married to the Sea.

The Simon family are Jewish Texan community and business leaders from Brenham, Texas. Led by Alex Simon, the family settled in Brenham, Texas in 1866 and helped to build B'Nai Abraham Synagogue, Brenham and the Simon Theatre.
The Simon Theatre was built by and designed by renowned Houston architect Alfred C. Finn. Its doors opened in 1925 and hosted theatrical performances, vaudeville acts, ballroom dances, special events and movies. The Simon Theatre remained open until it closed in the 1970s.
