Zeze Oriaikhi-Sao
Zeze Oriaikhi-Sao is a Nigerian entrepreneur, speaker and founder of Malée Natural Science, an African luxury fragrance and body-care cosmetics range.
Early life and career
Zeze was born in Nigeria (29 May 1985), but moved to the United Kingdom at the age of twelve, where she had her secondary and university education.
In 2009, after earning a Masters degree in International Business, she migrated to South Africa, unemployment amidst the global recession at the time and a lack of suitable skincare products in the market led her to consider entrepreneurship full time.
After moving to South Africa from the United Kingdom, Zeze started having some issues with her skin as the migration from a mild and humid weather to the warmer weather of South Africa caused her skin to react by losing moisture. After searching unsuccessfully for a suitable product for her skin, she discovered that there was a gap in the market for cosmetic products that catered to skin in the African climate.
In 2010, after lengthy research and development, she launched Malée Natural Science; a fragrance, bath and body care range of cosmetic products that uses locally sourced natural ingredients .
Malée which means gracious learned woman in Bini language of Nigeria, is named after her grandmother.
The brand achieved success in South Africa and was launched in the UK in 2015.
Zeze has been asked to speak at numerous events on the topic of entrepreneurship like the South African luxury Association, Wealth Summit, and the Business of Design.
