Zaya Toma

Zaya Toma (born 4 May 1982) is an Australian politician elected to the Fairfield City Council in September 2008 to represent the Fairfield Ward for the Liberal Party of Australia.

Personal life

Toma attends the University of Technology, Sydney where he is involved in student politics and is a member of the Australian Assyrian community.

Toma currently serves as an advisor to New South Wales Legislative Council member Charlie Lynn.

Council career

Toma was elected to Fairfield City Council in September 2008 as a Liberal Party representative for the Fairfield Ward.

In May 2009, Toma criticised other members the Fairfield City Council and Mayor Nick Lalich for holding a meeting that lasted for just 10 seconds. Toma applied to have the meeting recognised by Guinness World Records and received a letter from the organisation saying the 10-second meeting had gone to the second stage of the verification process
