Zafar Qabil Ajmeri
Zafar Qabil Ajmeri is a Pakistani Urdu author, journalist, social activist, columnist, and media representative.
Early life
Ajmeri was born on 3 October 1961 as Roshan Zameer in Hyderabad Sindh, Pakistan. His father was Qabil Ajmeri and his mother was Nargis Qabil Ajmeri. He received his early education in Hyderabad, Quetta and Sukkur. Zafar Qabil was orphaned at age one when his father died of tuberculosis.
Career
Ajmeri began writing at an early age and became locally known by the age of 18.
After migrating to Hyderabad Sindh in 1981, he became popular, and was recognized as a "senior" author and journalist of Urdu at the age of 21, along with other veterans of Hyderabad.
Ajmeri is credited with publishing more than 200 articles and columns in several local, regional and national newspapers in multiple languages (including English, Urdu and Sindhi) and has the distinction of being one of the youngest columnists in Asia. He is known for his role in the promotion of free press and media. He has also published two compilations of Urdu poetry and a volume on philosophy: Kuliyat e Qabil Ajmeri, Mutti ki khushoo and Ishq insan ki zarorat hai.
