Zach Tarkir
Zach Tarkir (born June 28, 1984) is an American professional ice hockey defender, currently playing for the Hannover Indians of the German 2nd. Bundesliga.
Playing career
After being drafted by the New Jersey Devils 167th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Tarkir went on the play four seasons with Northern Michigan University, posting 49 points and 194 penalty minitues in 151 games. He made his professional debut with the Lowell Devils of the AHL, playing 2 games during the remainder of the 2006–07 season. He then played 11 more games in the AHL the following season, before being sent down to the Trenton Devils of the ECHL for the rest of the 2007–08 season.
He played the 2008–09 season spilt between two teams, the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, and the Portland Pirates of the AHL. The next season was split between four teams, the Stingrays, the Lake Erie Monsters, the Springfield Falcons, and the Norfolk Admirals.
On June 8, 2010, Tarkir left and signed a one-year contract in Europe for the 2010–11 season, with German team, Hannover Indians.
