Zach Beecher

Zach Beecher is a venture capitalist and veteran of the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. He is an authority on driving innovation in defense.

Early life and education

Beecher grew up in Randolph, New Jersey. His mother was a social worker and his father was a police officer. He attended Princeton University on a ROTC scholarship, where he was elected president of his class.

Following his military service, Beecher was awarded a Rotary Scholarship to study in the United Kingdom. He earned a master’s degree in conflict, security and development from King's College London and a master's in criminology from the University of Cambridge.

Career

Military service

Beecher began his career in the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. From 2016 to 2017, he was deployed to Mosul to combat the Islamic State in Operation Inherent Resolve. He was responsible for coordinating logistics with the Iraqi Army and Coalition forces, including Sweden, New Zealand, Great Britain, Australia, Hungary, Norway, Germany and France. He earned a Bronze Star.

Venture capital

After completing his graduate studies, Beecher entered venture capital. He helped found America's Frontier Fund, a nonprofit fund dedicated to securing U.S. leadership in technology. While at America's Frontier Fund, he was named a Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy. In 2025, Beecher was named a Partner at Scout Ventures.

Beecher is regularly invited to speak and write on driving innovation in defense. Notable venues where he has delivered remarks include the Center for Strategic and International Studies at Georgetown University.

Politics

In November 2025, Beecher announced his candidacy in Congress in New Jersey's 11th congressional district special election to fill the seat vacated by Mikie Sherrill. He has received endorsements from former Senator Bob Kerrey, the National Association of Government Employees, and the With Honor Fund.
