Yel Low is a character that was created by a Singaporean artist in the early '00s. He has appeared in various forms of media 12 in the recent years since his conception.
Character's Biography
Birth Date
Yel Low was born in the north-eastern part of Singapore and has been living there since. His widely accepted date of birth is on the 18th of March, 1984 - one day before his creator's birth date. This date, however, is frequently disputed due to his poor memory and tendency to choose random dates as his birthday as a mean to get out of trouble or to coerce unknowing parties into doing things for him. Despite his age, he has not reached puberty yet.
Languages Spoken and Understood
Yel Low is able to speak English and Hokkien - a traditional dialect commonly spoken by the locals in Singapore. Though not ProFicient in Malay and Mandarin, he has often displayed signs of understanding some phrases and words by retorting in his signature replies if they were said to him with the intention to annoy or irritate him. He has also been seen communicating with doorknobs on several occasions.

Teleportation
Yel Low is known to be able to travel between locations at a speed that could be well beyond that of light. This gives rise to the speculation that he possesses teleportation abilities common to the likes of certain superheros hailing from the universe of Marvel Comics and DC Comics. It is not known, however, which method of teleportation he uses to move from one destination to the other; some believe that he achieves this through dematerialisation - a method in which the data of a particular matter is broken down at one location and precisely reconstructed at the desired location - while others believe that he CREATES a wormhole to The Effects of the gate shown in a 1994 film, Stargate.
Camouflage
Highly skilled in camouflage, Yel Low can give the impression of "morphing" himself into different forms. This ability has proved itself useful in situations that he was on the run after committing an act of vandalism.
Appearance
Yel Low has two large eyes sitting on the top of his head. His eyes lack eyelids and are often subjected to the abuse of various weather conditions. His arms and legs are mainly just stubs; they have no toes or fingers, making it difficult at times for him to hold things. He is clothed in yellow fur from head to toe. The fur maintains its vibrant yellow glow through the daily baths he takes with his creator.
Two of his most common accessories that he brings around with him are his starglasses and his red bow tie. There have been many theories surrounding the nature of his starglasses as it seems that it is somehow related to his teleportation abilities.
Characteristics
Known to be an individual of few words, Yel Low often converses and relays his thoughts by speaking at a maximum of two words or two syllabus at a time. This is, however, not by choice, but by the inability to articulate a string of words or multi-syllable words in succession. Some common words he is able to speak or is often heard speaking are, "OK", "Help", "No", "s'cuse", "Cheap Tricks" and "Lies". If it becomes an absolute necessity to convey a message in a complete sentence, he will resort to using text messages or taking prolonged pauses in between words.
Known to be fiercely protective of his creator, Yel Low is known to send hordes of yellow vehicles and people clothed in yellow to keep a look out for her.
A playful and mischievous person By Nature, Yel Low is also noted to be inclined towards dressing up as a bee, a whale or even a flower and appearing at different places to surprise his friends. It is reported that he was once dressed as a whale and appeared unannounced at a book launch by a local author whose book was illustrated by a close friend of his.
People have been known to mistake Yel Low, on several occasions as being a part of the amphibious species, mainly as a frog. Although it has been stated that this is false, his species remains unknown. Yel Low is known to be largely private AbOUT the details of his ancestry, often ignoring questions regarding it or avoiding people who have the tendency to probe too much. It is speculated that it is not his intention to remain aloof and keep it a secret, but mainly because he has little or no idea of what species he belongs to.
Controversy
Yel Low became a target of controversy when he was wrongfully accused of vandalizing the walls of an exhibition in February 2010. His creator has clarified that his pictures, which were stuck behind the paintings on exhibit, were not placed there by her, but by an unknown individual.
