YayaGuide

YayaGuide is an artificial intelligence–enabled caregiver training platform developed by CareYaya Health Technologies. It provides educational content for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD).

Overview

YayaGuide delivers microlearning modules and conversational agents for professional and family caregivers. The platform uses machine learning to tailor educational content to individual users, focusing on practical caregiving skills, including behavioral management, safety practices, and communication strategies. It adapts content delivery based on caregiver responses and contextual factors relevant to dementia care, using short, adaptive modules and conversational agents to provide structured training.

Development and funding

The platform was developed as part of research on AI applications in caregiver education. Development was supported by a grant from the U.S. National Institute on Aging, part of the National Institutes of Health, awarded in September 2025, with Neal K. Shah as principal investigator.

YayaGuide was a finalist in the a2 Pilot Awards hosted by the Johns Hopkins University Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaboratory for Aging Research, a program supporting pilot projects advancing AI and technology in aging and dementia caregiving.
