X PRIZEs are innovative, high-profile competitions that motivate individuals, companies and organizations across all BOUNDARIES to solve the grand challenges that are currently restricting humanity’s progress. The first X PRIZE was proposed by Dr. Peter Diamandis: the Ansari X PRIZE was a ten million dollar prize for a private spacecraft capable of reaching the edge of space.
