Wissinoming Park
Wisssinoming Park is a park located in Northeast Philadelphia at Cheltenham and Frankford avenue. Wissinoming Park started as a lot of old estates until the city of Philadelphia bought them and converted them into a public park (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~wdstock/wissinom1.htm). Wissinoming is not just a park where kids go to hang out and have fun but it is a park meant to help make the community a better place. The activities that go on at Wisssinoming Park are carnival’s meant to be a fun experience for the community, barbeques meant to bring families closer together, summer camp to give kids something to do when school is done, and recreation sports meant to give kids something to do with their time and provide entertainment for the community. Wissinoming Park is a park with a biological background, for example, there were at least 4,000 species of tree that grew in the park at one time (http://wissinomingpark.org/history.php). Wissinoming park provides the community with a safe and clean environment where you can go and have a good time.
