WinOps

WinOps is a culture, methodology and movement dedicated to the use of DevOps methodologies on Microsoft technologies. It emphasises the use of the cloud, automation and integrating development and IT operations into one fluid method on the Windows platform. It comes with the increased emphasis by Microsoft on open-Source Technologies.

History

The term 'WinOps' was coined at the London DevOps meetup held at Facebook in June 2015. As an amalgamation of Windows and DevOps, it represents the new emphasis on using existing DevOps methodologies in the traditionally less open-source Microsoft space. Since the first WinOps Conference in September 2015, there have been 5 meetups and a second conference, held in May 2016.
