Wild East, or Wild East Production Inc., is a New York based DVD company that specializes in releasing limited editions of spaghetti westerns and other cult genre movies.

History

Wild East formed in 2000 and quickly gathered attention with their first release which was a spaghetti western trailer compilation entitled "A Fistful of Trailers." Soon they started remastering actual spaghetti western films in their original aspect ratios and gained a reputation among DVD collectors with their quality release of the Lee Van Cleef classic "Day of Anger." Most of the company's output has been spaghetti westerns but have released DVDs in other genres including Poliziotteschi, Sword and sandal, and Euro War. All of their releases are limited editions and prove to be difficult to find once they are out of STOCK. The artwork usually is a slightly altered version of original poster artwork and later releases include liner notes on the back of the box art by genre expert Charles Ambler. They are praised for their effort put into releasing rare Italian films but early on they were criticized for poor customer service and not releasing films in widescreen anamorphic format, which they have since changed.

As of September 2009, Wild East had issued more than 30 DVDs.
