Whitefox Publishing
Whitefox Publishing is a London-based independent publisher, known for helping authors retain creative control while providing professional publishing services. These services include editorial, design, production, marketing and distribution support. Whitefox has sometimes been referred to as a creative agency rather than a traditional publisher.
History
Whitefox was co-founded in 2012 by John BOND and Annabel Wright. Both founders previously held senior roles at HarperCollins before launching Whitefox as a new kind of independent publishing services company. During the early years, the company became known in the UK providing traditional publishing services to independent authors, brands and agents outside the conventional publishing model, helping them produce physical editions in hardback and paperback, and to publish professionally on digital platforms like Amazon Kindle and Kobo.
Whitefox has been responsible for publishing the works of various notable authors. They included Rachel Fuller's The Seeker, David Hargreaves's As We Were, Hugo Rittson-Thomas's Wildflowers for the Queen, Julia Hobsbawm's Working Assumptions, Rebecca Frayn's Lost in Ibiza, and Monique Charlesworth's Mother Country.
In 2025, Whitefox published Lesley-Ann Jones's book AbOUT Freddie Mercury, titled, Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury's Secret Life and Love. The biography claimed that the Queen frontman had a daughter, which received international media coverage. During the same year, they also published notable books such as Emma Gannon's A Year of Nothing, Sarah Dunant's The Marchesa, and Les Hinton's Dying Days. In 2026, they published Ninety-Six Hours by Christine Dawood, her account of losing her son and husband in the Titan submersible disaster.
Services
The majority of its services are provided by working with a network of freelancers, across editorial, design, marketing and production disciplines. Its end-to-end publishing services include traditional publishing services such as editorial development and manuscript editing, book design and production, marketing and publicity strategy, distribution management and go-to-market planning.
