The 901 at that time ran from Birmingham to Walsall via Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield, but was split into two routes, the 105A and the 991. The section between Roughley and Lichfield was withdrawn. Therefore, it became the 105/105A until the arrival of Plaxton Presidents in 2000. Then the 105A was renumbered 905, and it has been similar to today.
