Service 1 links Birmingham Town Hall with Acocks Green

History

Prior to a revised frequency put in place on this service in October 2007, the service used to be run with MCW Metrobus with the odd Wright Eclipse Gemini providing cover when needed. Service ran every 15 minutes Monday - Saturday daytime with early Sunday morning journeys run by Diamond Bus under contract to Centro.

MCW Metrobus AG 2849 was the last Metrobus to have it's the one branding removed. Vehicle has now returned back to Acocks Green.

Present

Service 1 serves Birmingham, Five Ways, Edgbaston, Moseley and Acocks Green. National Express West Midlands (NXWM) Acocks Green (AG) operate the route every 12 minutes Monday - Saturday daytime, 20 minutes on Sunday and 30 evenings during the evening. The route usually experiences refurbished the one branded Plaxton Presidents with Wright Eclipse Geminis when needed. Volvo B6LE's and Optare Solo's are known to appear when a double decker is not avilable.

This route is part of six Centro 'showcased' routes; Other service under the 'showcased' heading including the 377, 451, Premier 934, Premier 993 and Premier 997. Agreements between National Express West Midlands and Centro are in place within these services.
