Releasing her first LP in April 2008, St. Kitts’s music has an organic, rhythmic flow. Vocally, she moves from a roar to a whisper with ease, and R. In an interview with Vividnurban.com , St. Kitts said To me, writing music and lyrics are very spiritual. I can’t force it. It has to call me. Most of my songs come to me in my sleep. Typically, I get the lyrics, melody, piano arrangement (core song) and a solid idea for the instrumentation in my sleep. VividNurban.com said about Wendy St. Kitts, "This songstress has a presence and a voice that is guaranteed to move the most rebellious of crowds just by the passion with which she delivers her material. She goes to great lengths to ensure that the musical landscape (which she produces herself) accurately matches the lyrics that she is singing."
