Features
The Web CEO developers regard the search engine optimization process as a sequence of 4 interdependent stages. Each stage demands specific tools that can cope with SEO tasks: 1) niche research and selection, 2) website optimization for and promotion in search engines, 3) website analysis, and 4) website maintenance.
These 4 main SEO tasks, that challenge every SEO specialist, defined the functionality of Web CEO and the suggested order of the tools’ usage. Therefore 12 Web CEO tools are grouped in the following 4 functional blocks.
Niche research and selection
- The Keyword tool is used to research popularity of keywords and to pick out topic relevant keywords with the lowest competition and highest demand, i.e. best from the SEO perspective.
- The Optimization tool consists of a built-in page analyzer that gives detailed general and search engine-specific SEO advice, based on white-hat optimization practice, in plain English.
- The Editor tool provides the ability to apply the advice from the Optimization tool in the clear WYSIWYG mode. An instantaneous count of important keyword scores, such as frequency, weight, and prominence, as well as immediate access to the most SEO-critical areas in a page structure make the Web CEO Editor not only an extension to the Optimization tool, but also an educational tool for beginners. In addition, the Editor can edit the existing (or create a new) robots.txt file and a Sitemap.
Website promotion
- The Submission tool has either an automatic or manual submission mode, and can submit website information not only to general-purpose search engines, but also to shopping search engines, press release and news sites, blog directories, communities, and search engines. The website data are submitted as Sitemaps too (created by the Editor tool).
- The Partners tool can be used to find sites related to the website’s keywords or theme and to send an email request for link exchange. Automatic monitoring and reporting of the partner links status is another key feature of the Partner tool.
- PPC (Pay Per Click) Campaigns Manager stores all PPC account information and provides a one-click access to all the important search engines providing PPC services.
Website analysis
- The Ranking tool checks indexed pages and their ranking for multiple keywords in more than 700 search engines with the ranking history saved. The tool features 27 predefined reported data presentations and can provide many more if powerful data filtering capabilities are turned on.
- The Links tool generates detailed reports on incoming links, used link texts, and provides a linking sites overview, while comparing all of this to what competitors experience.
- HitLens is a live visitor tracking system for analyzing site visitors’ behavior patterns, ad campaigns, transactions, and revenue. The tool provides over 120 unique reports with more than 170 variations. HitLens is available as a subscription-based service.
Website maintenance
- The Upload tool uploads optimized pages and other files to the remote server via FTP.
- Auditor is a tool to check a site for broken links , missing images, untitled, old and slow pages, broken anchors, missing Meta tags, and other website quality problems.
- The Site Uptime Monitoring tool provides real-time reports on server performance: connect time, host ping, download time, DNS resolve time, download speed, time-outs, time on error and uptime. It also sends email alerts to website operators in case a site is down or some other alarm trigger is pulled. Site Uptime Monitoring is available as a subscription-based service.
Professional tools
Web CEO has additional tools for search marketing and optimization including functionality critical for professional Web marketers. These functions automate the routine tasks that challenge search engine optimizers every day. They are: Scheduler (can be run in the background to obtain reports automatically at a scheduled time), Dashboard (a report combining key information received from several Web CEO tools), Journal (measures time spent with Web CEO tools working), and the Report Sharing System (a separate light version of HitLens for providing web-based reports to clients while inserting their own logos white label).
Editions
Web CEO Suite comes in three editions: Free, SmallBiz, and Professional. The Free edition is a ready-made solution for search engine marketing novices, the SmallBiz Edition version for site owners and webmasters who occasionally practice SEM and SEO, and the Professional Edition is a set of tools for seasoned professionals. Each Web CEO edition is accompanied by a Web-base training course in SEO, SEM and Internet Marketing.
The Web CEO Free edition has no time limitations and nag screens. All basic functions are available in this edition.
The difference between Web CEO SmallBiz and Web CEO Professional editions is mainly in enhanced reporting features.
