Today in Korea, water skiing is becoming a more popular sport during the summer time. The sport was first introduced to Korea after the Korean war by American military. There are many different places to water ski in Korean, including Gapyung river and Hantan river and so on. The season usually starts in March and lasts until October. Only 5 years ago, water skiing was the unchallenged leading water sports in Korea . Over a few years, however, wakeboarding has started to become popular among young Koreans. The average price for a single p! erson to water ski in Korea is 60,000 won or $60. In 2003, the Korean Water Ski Association was founded to help encourage interest in the growing popularity of water skiing among Koreans. Just recently at the World Wakeboard Championships, Mr. Lee, Jong-Hwi, President of the Korean Waterski and Wakeboard Association and Mr. Kuno Ritschard, President of the IWWF signed an Agreement for a Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup as part of the 2010 World Leisure Games in Chuncheon â Korea.
