Warwick Speakers

Warwick Speakers is a public speaking society at the University of Warwick. The society specialises in training students in improving their speaking skills before an audience. From 2005-07, the Society was a Toastmaster's International Gavel Club, before regaining membership in 2012.

History

Warwick Speakers was formally established in November 2005 under the then Presidency of Wen Bin Lim.

Executive

Warwick Speakers' executive oversee the running of the club and represent the society in all capacities.

Sessions

The society meets every Tuesday at 7.15pm in University term time. Sessions are based around the completion of Toastmaster Manuals including the Competent Communicator Award and the Leadership Award.

Competitions

The society also runs two annual competitions. The first, an internal Christmas competition, was first held on 5 December 2012. The other competition, 'The Speaker', was last held in January 2013 and operates annually.
