Wagga Brothers

Wagga Brothers is an Australian rugby league team that plays in the Group 9 competition based in areas surrounding Wagga Wagga, regional New South Wales.

History

The first general meeting to form a senior club was 11 September 1979. The first game was played on the 23 March 1980 against the Wagga Magpies in the Group 9 competition. The Wagga Brothers did not win a game in the Group 9 competition and had no other choice but to play in the Group 13 competition due to an exemption from Group 9 in 1981. In 1995 the Wagga Brothers won the Group 9 premiership against the Wagga Magpies. In 2007 Brothers have turned recent form and made it through against the odds to qualify for the grandfinal against minor premiers Tumut, the bid for the cup however was unsuccesful.
