Volkswagen collectibles

The German automotive firm Volkswagen has licensed its logo and the logos and names of its automobile models onto many collectibles. In particular models of the Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen New Beetle have been popular with collectors, because of their cultural influence. Volkswagen themselves maintain online catalogs of VW branded merchandise.

In the United States, Volkswagen has licensed its logo and brands onto clothing, bags, pens and pencils, games, coffee mugs, and many other items. In Germany, similar items are available, including umbrellas, golf balls and golf bags, cigarette lighters and lapel pins.

Volkswagen Beetle

One of the most famous toys based on the original VW Beetle is that of Bumblebee, an original character in the 1984 Transformers toy line by Hasbro, based on robot/vehicle designs licensed by Takara.

New Beetle models

Model car versions of The New Beetle have been produced for international markets. Two firms in the United States, Matchbox and Johnny Lightning, have both produced model cars. The German firm Siku has also produced a model. Other brands have included Tins' Toys, Speedy Power, Smart Toys and Welly.
