Vizati
Vizati is a video game for PC/Mac, iPhone/iPad, and WP7 developed and published by Different Pixel. It is a match-three puzzler, and was released June 10, 2010.
Gameplay
IndieDB described the gameplay: "You have to rotate a magical cube to connect (group) the little vizati stones by color and figure out the best way to do it with a limited number of rotations/moves. You can play the Story Mode and follow the story between Julie and Peter who discovered the Vizati cube, or play the Arcade Mode, which is a rawer, faster and even more teasing mode."
Critical reception
GameZebo noted "Vizati is a product of passion, rather than a quick puzzler cash-in...Vizati could do with a signpost or two to turn what is already a good little puzzler into a truly great one.", and rated it 3/5 stars. GameDaily wrote "Vizati makes a valiant attempt to bring original artwork, music, atmosphere and something a bit different to the usually quite staid puzzle genre. Unfortunately, with a story mode that is anything but, and an arcade mode that doesn’t require all that much puzzling, there’s not really enough here to justify the £6 price tag", and rated the game 63%. Expert Reviews said "Vizati probably isn't a game that anyone will be glued to for hours at a time, but it's an ideal casual game – an engaging diversion that, as you progress to the higher levels, becomes difficult enough to produce a real sense of satisfaction when you finally clear a puzzle", giving it 4.5 stars.
AbOUT Technology wrote "With a unique puzzle mechanic, beautiful production values, and two different modes of play, it's an absolute joy to play. But the difficulty level is pretty high and can result in more than a few frustrating moments. But if you can look past that, Vizati offers up a great puzzle experience", rating it 4/5 stars. GamerNexus said "Vizati is an affordable indie game and fantastic puzzler, but falls just short in the end. A disregard for diversity in puzzles increases the "I'm bored" factor swiftly. Vizati is worth getting solely for the intriguing artwork and wondrous tunes." GGSGamer wrote "So if you have an iPhone or and PC and are a like minded individual who can easily become absorbed in the likes of Solitaire (or like me have lost hours to Vista Chess), or if you have an appreciation for games with a unique aesthetic flare, then you should definitely considering giving Vizati a try!". 148apps agve the game 4/5 stars, writing "The music is wonderful as well, and absolutely fits the mood set by the art. I know I’ve used this comparison before, but the art/music style really reminds me of ‘Braid‘."
