Victor Olusegun Ategbole
Victor Ategbole is an American Doctor, Nigerian Politician, Member of All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ondo State, Nigeria. Also, he was a Former Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB). He was appointed to this position by the governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on July, 7, 2025.
Victor Ategbole previously served as Special Adviser to the late Rotimi Akeredolu, a former Governor of Ondo State, and to the current Governor of Ondo State, prior to his appointment as Chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board. He later resigned to vie for an elective position on April, 2, 2026.
Other political activities
Shortly after resigning as Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board, he purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest in the party’s 2027 primary election. He was initially expected to run against the incumbent federal lawmaker representing the Akoko South West/ Akoko South East federal constituency, Hon. Adegboyega Adefarati. On 5 May 2026, he was endorsed by APC leaders as the consensus candidate to represent the Akoko South West/ Akoko South East federal constituency.
In May 2025, he participated in the All Progressive congress primary election, which reportedly attracted a large turnout of voters. He received 12,065 votes, defeating his opponent, Adegboyega Adefarati, who polled 1,965 votes. However, he was disqualified by the party with illustration that he did not meet the screening requirements. As a result, Adegboyega Adefarati was declared the winner.
