VIA3 – VIA3 delivers live audio, video, instant messaging, application viewing and sharing, whiteboarding, and secure workspaces directly from the desktop, over any public or private IP network, whether fixed, mobile or wireless. - Video
Using web cameras, meeting participants can make live video available for others to see. Multipoint video technology in VIA3 enables video to be sent and received from all meeting participants rather than just the meeting host. This feature enables VIA3 to be more dynamic and interactive since all participants can be seen in real time.
High quality and high resolution video are key to a successful online meeting experience. Based on your computer configuration, VIA3 enables H.264, a next-generation video compression technology, to ensure the sharpest image quality and color. This advanced technology, also known as MPEG-4 Part 10, enables higher quality video while requiring less than half the bandwidth of older compression technologies. VIA3 automatically optimizes your video experience based on both your internet connection and computer configuration.
- Audio
With a standard off-the-shelf computer headset, OR built in laptop hardware, the audio feature of VIA3 enables you to hear other meeting members using toll quality audio delivered over the Internet. This means there are no additional charges for conference calls or separate phone connections to coordinate, since you no longer need the telephone to hear others in your VIA3 meeting.
VIA3 offers echo cancellation, automatic gain control and a real-time visual indication of who is speaking in your meeting. Your meeting experience is enhanced because unwanted sounds and echoes are prevented and the volume levels are automatically adjusted.
VIA3 optimizes the audio stream based on a meeting participant’s connection speed to ensure the highest quality audio.
- Instant Messaging
VIA3 instant messaging (IM) is built on a security platform that uses end-to-end encryption and multiple layers of protection. VIA3 encrypts the message right there at your computer, transmits what is seemingly a garbled, unintelligible combination of symbols, and then decrypts the information at the computer of the intended recipient. This method means that no one can view IM traffic, except for the person you were intending. In addition, VIA3 IM gives you the option to archive instant messages for quick retrieval or later reference.
The VIA3 instant messaging feature is available in all VIA3 products. When using VIA3 IM, you are just a single click away from a completely secure online meeting with real-time audio, video and data sharing capabilities for situations that call for more direct, private, collaborative interaction.
- Presence Detection
With VIA3 presence detection, you can see whether your clients or colleagues are present and available, which enables you to communicate or start a meeting with them instantly. Availability status indicators include "Available", "Away", "Appear Offline", "In Meeting", and "Do Not Disturb". Additionally, presence and availability icons are displayed in your meetings, so you know instantly if someone is available without having to check in the main VIA3 contact list.
- Share Presentations
VIA3 gives meeting participants the ability to share Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations in real time with others. This feature includes the ability to preserve animations and add annotations.
- Live View
Demonstrate a new software application, review a web site with a group of people, show a file from an application that is loaded only on your computer, or even view a complex engineering drawing with the Live View feature in VIA3. You can allow the other meeting participants to view your full screen, a region of it, or even a specific application. Participants can watch in real time as you open files, make changes, and connect to different web pages and more.
- Workspaces
Another unique advantage to VIA3! VIA3 lets you set up and manage ongoing project and client-specific online workspaces with pertinent files ready for use and joint editing at any time. These workspaces are access-controlled, so you decide which files to share and who has access to them. When you need to collaborate with others, you can confidently access stored files and share them with others in complete privacy. In addition there is a resident discussion feature that allows you to chime in on each project workspace.
- Whiteboard
Whether it's a document, icon, graphic, picture, chart, or Web page, if it's visible on your computer desktop, you can bring it into a VIA3 meeting for discussion, or to help make your point. Visually express ideas and comments in a meeting, with the ability to brainstorm, draw, and mark up and save graphical information.
Locations and Facilities
VIACK Corporation is headquartered in San Jose, California. Viack also has numerous employees around the country (successfully) utilizing the very tool they develop and sell to stay virtually connected.
VIACK Corporation also has a secret, secure location in Washington state. VIACK’s hosted systems are located in a locked cage within a secure, state-of-the-art Data Center. Access to the Data Center is strictly controlled, with a very limited number of people having the ability to gain access to the floor where the servers are located.
The site has security guards, biometric entry control devices, and an access policy that requires prior authorization for entry to the server area. Service personnel are only allowed access when escorted by an authorized VIACK employee. No cameras or photography is permitted on the server floor.
Back-up tapes (which contain only encrypted information) are stored off-site in a fireproof safe that is directly under VIACK’s control, access is limited to a very few trusted employees.
