Versailles (French band)

Versailles is a French progressive rock band based in Lille, France and formed in 1985. They released their first single, Le Sang Bleu, in 1988. They have released four albums from 1991 till 1998. The songs from the first three albums are set in the second part of the 17th century in Europe. Dominique le Guennec, Mona Lisa's former lead singer, joined Versailles for their fourth album. The band put a stop to Versailles by reforming the 70s progressive rock band Mona Lisa. All their albums have been published by the non-profit association Musea Records. The band's leader, Guillaume de la Pilière, released 3 solo albums. The band bought from Yes (band) a mellotron which was used on their third album.
