Vaughn "Blud" Anderson

Vaughn "Blud" Anderson (born July 21, 1978) is a Canadian mixed martial artist and kickboxer, with professional records of 4-1-1 1 and 1-1 2, respectively. Hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Anderson has spent the entirety of his professional career fighting in Asia, particularly China, where he has fought for the country's most prolific MMA organization, The Art of War Fighting Championships 3, five times, amassing a 3-1-1 record.

Anderson has trained throughout the continent since arriving in 2002, including an extended stint in Taizhong, Taiwan where he studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA with Warren Wang. Under Wang, Anderson began to build a reputation by competing in regional BJJ and MMA events. After commuting between the two locations, Anderson eventually decided to move to Taiwan's capital of Taipei to train with Andy Wang at Taiwan BJJ, where he studied Muay Thai under Master David Sinclair, Judo, and Boxing.

In 2007, Anderson was invited to China's Art of War Fighting Championships to face undefeated Chinese fighter, Ao Hai Lin4, in Art of War 8: Worlds Collide5. Anderson would go on to become a staple of the organization and crowd favorite, thanks to his proficiency in spoken Mandarin.

After receiving his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2008, Anderson moved to Bangkok, Thailand to train Muay Thai full-time. Later in the year, he was contacted by the world's biggest kickboxing promotion, Japan's K-1, and asked to participate in their annual Asian Heavyweight Grand Prix, to be held in his old stomping grounds of Taiwan. Anderson would go on to take third place in the tournament behind world-renowned Russians, Ruslan Karaev and Aleksandr Pitchkounov, by knocking out Jun Ito of Japan at 1'56" of the first round.6

Vaughn Anderson now trains with the Art of War fight camp based out of Beijing. He has earned a reputation as a boxer/jiu-jitsu practitioner. Anderson studies boxing under the brother of Benny "The Jet" Urquidez and Beijing Sports University boxing coach, Arnold Urquidez7, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, under the tutelage of Royler Gracie black belt, Pedro Schmall8, and Andy Pi.
