VandaSec

VandaSec is a gray hat hacking group which became noticed on the 14 December 2015 due to their conspiracy claim towards the United Kingdom's Department For Work And Pension. The group claimed that they beheld a zero-day exploit capable of breaching specific twitter accounts which had a certain security disadvantage within the user's account settings. This allowed the group to obtain a series of ISIS propaganda accounts which they then defaced with their iconic cat avatar, coupled with the following username.

Feud with Team R00t

   In late 2015, VandaSec was in a small cyber skirmish with another hacking group known as Team R00t. This occurred after members of Team R00t defaced the website of Binarysec , another hacking group, who at the time were somewhat partners with VandaSec. This involved the use of VandaSec's twitter zero day, and use of OSINT by Team r00t. Shortly after, Team r00t and VandaSec reconciled their differences, and briefly worked together.
