UVR (band)
UVR (Ultra Violet Radiation) is an American pop-punk band, that formed in 1997 in San Francisco, USA.
History
The tracks "Hollywood" and "Got Two Girlfriends" have received significant radio play on major and college stations. UVR's 2002 release Plastic World sold more than 15,000 copies, and the New album Blood On The Satellite is on a pace to sell far more. Their album Blood On The Satellite was the only independent band listed in the top 100 albums of 2004 by Rock One magazine, ranked #55, above many better known acts. UVR has gone on 4 national tours of all ages venues, building a base following all over the country, and has toured in Europe twice, and Japan twice, building an ever-growing international fanbase. "Got Two Girlfriends" spent 20 weeks on Clear Channel's KOSO top 20 list and 2 weeks at # 1. Also UVR claimed the # 1 spot on XM Satellite Radio. UVR has been able to increase its fanbase by opening for establish acts on tour, like Avril Lavigne, Something Corporate, Marcy Playground, Stroke Nine, Nikka Costa, and others. Now the new album of the band, Silent Disaster is out.
