Universite de Wallis
The Université de Wallis (Wallis University) is allegedly a French university, founded in 2005 and regulated by Article L 771-1 of the Education code of the French Republic. However, the U.S. state of Oregon identifies this institution as an unaccredited institution operated from London and claiming a location in the Wallis and Fortuna Islands in the South Pacific.1 Since Wallis University is not accredited by any accreditation body recognized by its country, its degrees and credits might not be acceptable to employers or other institutions, and use of degree titles may be restricted or illegal in some jurisdictions.2
Université de Wallis offers free courses (English, culture and civilization of Wallis) to the residents and online courses of Wallisian language to international students. It applies also the VAE (Validation des Acquis de l'Experience) (Prior Learning Assessment-PLA) procedure that grants regular degrees in many fields of studies. Courses are in French, English and Wallisian languages.
Association with another unaccredited institution
The internet domain universite-de-wallis.fr is registered to the "Ecole Superieure Robert de Sorbon," which is another unaccredited institution. This "Sorbon," not to be confused with Sorbonne University in Paris, is described by the State of Oregon's Office of Degree Authorization this way:
Uses several similar names including "U Francophone" and "Ecole Superior" with the Sorbon name. AACRAO has concluded that the entity has no authority to issue degrees. Claims of AACRAO approval made by an organization called AUAP are inaccurate and AACRAO has filed suit against the entity. Degrees are banned for use in Sweden. Not the same as 'Sorbonne', which refers to three government-recognized universities in Paris. 3
