Company History

Provider Networks
United Concordia operates a National Fee-For-Service network with over 60,000 participating dentists nationwide. Much of this provider growth can be attributed to the demand for dental treatment in rural locations of the country, as needed by remote members of the military.
Large Contracts
In 1996, United Concordia was selected by the Department Of Defense to administer the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP). The TDP provides dental benefits to the families of ACTIVE Duty Service Members, as well as Selected Reservists and Individual Ready Reservists. United Concordia was subsequently renewed in 2001 and 2006 to continue administering the TDP contract by the Department of Defense. The current contract, which covers over 1.8 million members, expires on January 31, 2011.
In 2008, United Concordia was also selected by the Department of Defense to administer the Active Duty Dental Program (ADDP). The ADDP provides dental benefits to Active Duty Service Members and Remote Active Duty Service Personnel. This contract was formed due to the declining number of dentists available on military installations.
