uniIRC is a French IRC network.

History
The network was created in 2007 after the fall of the HeliosNet network. uniIRC is composed of five servers that can be accessed through different methods, allowing anybody to connect whether they use an IRC client or connecting through a firewall.

Codes-sources
uniIRC hosts the official Codes-sources' channel, the biggest French sites network about programming in several languages. The channels #programmation (French) and #programming (English) let the users ask questions about problems they encounter while developing applications and get some help from the other users.
The Codes-Sources websites daily bring thousand of users through websites dedicated to all languages (cppfrance.com, vbfrance.com, csharpfr.com, phpcs.com, flashkod.com, javafr.com, asmfr.com, ...)

Services

The network use services such as Chansev, Nickserv, Hostserv and Botserv offering users the possibility to protect their nickname or channels.

Servers
The uniIRC servers are located in France, allowing thousand of users to chat on private or public channels, grouped by center of interest.

Connecting
Connecting to uniIRC is possible using the official webchat, offering the user a Java Applet and a CGI:IRC for firewalled connections.


It is also possible to connect uniIRC using an IRC client such as mIRC or XChat. All servers are open on the port 6667.
