ULIS

ULIS is a Belarusian rock band, singing in Belarusian language. It has been created and made its first public performance in Minsk in March 1989. Their style is mostly alternative rock with elements of Metal.

Song Radyjo Svaboda (Radio Freedom), composed in 1990, became an anthem of the Belarusian branch of the radio station Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

ULIS has participated in concerts and festivals Moscow, Minsk, Brest, Hrodna, Navahrudak (Belarus), Kaliningrad (Russia), Chernovtsy (Ukraine), Sopot (Poland), Białystok (Poland), Augsburg (Germany), London (Great Britain).

In the years of 1991-1993 ULIS was playing concerts in clubs & pubs in Augsburg (Germany). In autumn 1993 ULIS appeared in London, playing 6 gigs in local clubs.

ULIS played with such groups as: The Stranglers, Kaoma, Havana Black, Leningrad Cowboys, Echo and The Bunnymen, Intzer Ebb, Marillion, Mecca, The Band of Holy joy, Jethro Tull, etc
