U Direct Productions

U Direct NYC (corporate name, U Productions, Inc.) is an award winning commercial production and post-production company based in Tribeca, New York City. The company was founded in March 1994 by Daniel Miller.

Charter Internet (April 2009)

The third in a series of commercials shot for Charter Communications, "Sandwich Board" feature two sandwich board wearing "salesman" (Charter Internet vs. DSL) selling their wares to an extensive cast of extras on location in Grand Army Plaza in Manhattan.

Nokia "Closer" (March 2009)

Traveled to Miami, Florida to produce a spot highlighting an upcoming cellphone's capabilities, a video which will eventually play directly on the new phone.

Charter Business (February 2009)

For the second spot done for Charter Communications advertised the company's business based services. "Supply Closet," required the construction - and filling - a fully functioning, free standing supply closet.

BDO Seidman (January 2009)

Worked with BDO Seidman to produce "Pillars" and "Airport," two nationally broadcast spots as well as the print campaign. Veteran filmmaker and photographer Ron Hamad directed, and Stefan Czapsky (Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns) helmed the RED Camera on this back-to-back shoot in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Charter Telephone (December 2008)

U Direct's first spot done for Charter Communications, "Good Call," told the classic tale of boy-meets-girl; boy waits anxiously for girl to call, learning the importance of call-waiting.

Diapers.com (September 2008)

Shot four separate in spots in a single day for Diapers.com's "Go Mom!" ad campaign, which featured an infant narrator in the style of Look Who's Talking.

Caroline (July 2008)

U Direct turned animation into live-action for the Universal feature film Coraline for a spot for Channel One, advertising Macy's clothing line Epic Threads.

Drillbit Taylor (February 2008)

U Direct worked with the cast of the movie Drillbit Taylor for Paramount Pictures and Channel One News to create three spots (1, 2, 3)promote the film to teen audiences.

John Grisham's new novel "The Appeal" (January 2008)

Created an original spot for Spier NY and Doubleday for John Grisham's 21st novel, The Appeal.

Vodafone (2008/2009)

Shot and edited an original pitch video for Skinny (of K&B) and British telecommunications giant Vodafone.

Anti-Tobacco: "Cigarettes Are Eating You Alive" (2008/2009)

U Direct worked with DCF Advertising and NYC Health to produce graphic anti-smoking ad showing diseased organs and computer-generated imagery of an unhealthy human body.
