Tygron Engine
The Tygron Engine is online 3D project software for urban planners, architects and engineers: a tool that streamlines the planning process and reduces the time and costs involved in urban planning projects. It is developed by Tygron in The Hague, Netherlands since 2013 and has been used by several municipalities, universities, urban planners and utility corporations.
Procedural Environment
Tygron Engine uses procedural modeling technology to generate a realistic 3D world based on different types of Geographic data. A user can select any area in the Netherlands and all relevant data sources from e.g. the Kadaster are queried online and downloaded into the system. Using cloud computing the server application turns the aggregated data into predefined shapes, patterns and profiles such as buildings, zoning plans, ownership layers, neighborhoods, water and height maps.
Usage
After the 3D environment is generated, a user can simply add a Performance Indicator that measures for example the amount of noise generated by traffic the amount of green in a given area. These indicators are calculated using cloud computing for live feedback to the users. Now multiple users can log into the system as Stakeholders and start negotiating AbOUT different solutions. They can add new buildings, demolish them, buy/sell land to each other, etc. etc. During these sessions the most optimal and realistic solution can be found that is agreeable by all parties involved.
The Tygron Engine has been used to solve urban planning situations, urban energy transitions and water related planning.
Extendable
The Tygron Engine also allows users to extend the way indicators are calculated. When a user needs a specific solution for their use-case they can add new indicators or use the API and SDK to connect their own calculation models.
