Tristan Murray

Tristan Murray Born October 21, 1985 in Brampton, Ontario is an Canadian soccer player who currently plays for the Italia Shooters in the Canadian Soccer League.

Youth Soccer

Murray began playing youth soccer with CS Azzurri and Brampton Thistle. He captained his Brampton club team to the Ontario Cup and a bronze-medal finish at the national Club Championship in 2001. Attended St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Secondary School in Brampton, where he captained the team to a third-place finish in OFSSAA in 2004 and was named Athlete of the Year.

In 2004 Murray received a scholarship to James Madison University, in his first season he made his Canada U-20 debut against United States U-20 which resulted in a 1-0 victory for the States. He was awarded as JMU Rookie of the Year and also named to Conference All-Rookie Team. His final year with Dukes he was named co-captain and was named to NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Team.

On May 9, 2007 Murray signed with the Toronto Lynx, his signing was announced in a press conference announcing the 2007 roster. He made his debut on May 25 in 2-2 draw between the Chicago Fire Premier. The Lynx finished the season with a 6-6-4 record, which placed the team in fourth place in the Great Lakes Division, and only missed a playoff berth by six points.

Playing Career

Murray signed with Italia Shooters for the 2008 CSL season. On September 21, he scored his first goal for the club against TFC Academy in 4-1 victory which clinched the International Division title for the Shooters.
