Trent A. Aistrope

Trent A. Aistrope is an enlisted member of the United States Air Force. Aistrope is notable because his was the first Air Force court martial to be convened in Afghanistan. Aistrope was charged with violating article 121 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, after he took $1500 from a wallet he found.

The wallet was found January 15, 2008, in the PAX (passenger) Terminal during a lay over in Incirlik AB, Turkey. It had just been 6 hours from his departure from Ramstein AB, en route to Manas AB, to begin his 6 month deployment. He was supposed to turn in the wallet to PAX personnel. The flight was delayed while Security Forces began an investigation.

At his April 14 court-martial, Aistrope pleaded guilty to a single charge of larceny and a military judge sentenced him to two months’ confinement, demotion to staff sergeant from Technical Sergeant, $2,000 in lost wages and a $1,500 fine. 1

Aistrope was stationed at Bagram Air Base, as part of the 755th Air Expeditionary Group. He is currently stationed at Ramstein Air Base, in the 435th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

The recommendation that Aistrope be listed for recommended for promotion to Technical Sergeant on June 16 2007.
